Create Virtual Directory in IIS 4.0 1

Okay... here's an easy one. I'm VERY new to IIS... just basically stumbling around.

I need to create a virtual directory in IIS 4.0 for someone. I have a person that wants "a virtual directory in the InetPub directory that points back to the OLQ/Intranet directory" on another partition. I can create a virtual directory straight to the InetPub directory... but HOW do I point it back to the OLQ/Intranet directory???? I'm so lost!!!

Right click on the site which you have created in IIS and select new > virtual directory. Type in the name of the virtual dir you want and then you will be prompted to ask for the location of the folder in your HardDisk. Select your folder and its done. Hope it helps.

Hmm... I already did that much. Let me see if I can explain it in more detail. Remember, I am using NT 4.0 and IIS 4.0 (and IE 5.5).

I select the Default Web Site and select new > virtual directory. I type in an alias name (OLQ). I then browse to the physical path (D:\OLQ\Intranet) (I have NO IDEA where the InetPub should come into play here as mentioned in my first post). I set permissions for Read, Script, and Execute access. It then comes up with a STOP symbol, and says "Access is denied." Also, when trying to just browse pages from within IIS (not sure if this has anything to do with it though), it says:

Page cannot be displayed.
HTTP 500 - Internal server error
Internet Explorer

Have you changed the permissions on the D;\OLQ\Intranet folder so that the IUSR_machinename account can access it?
