We have overhead paging trunks on our Nortel 81c, which were created by our normal vendor, however he's busy on a huge job and i'm supposed to try this.
I don't know how many parts i need to create and in what order?
I did try making a RDB in load 16 and it took my RDB but not the ACOD i wanted, but I don't know where to go to see what's already in use for that (whatever it might be).
I have listed a current working paging trunk i'd like to make it like, however, using 63 as the paging code.

thank you very much for your help.

You can go to ld 20 and find out what 63 is used for. Documented in 10 or 11.

ld 20

req=prt
type=DN
dn=63
enter

shows you what 63 is programmed for if it is used.

To find out whats available go to LD 20. Documented in 10 or 11.

ld 20

REQ=PRT
type=LUDN
dn=6
enter

this will show you all available numbers starting with 6. It should show you all the numbers starting with 6 that are not used.

Hello John, i did the lookup using 66 and there is no 63, it just started listing our DID numbers in the 6000's. what does the ACOD signify?

ACOD is the acces code for the route you are creating. If your DID range is 6000s then I would ot use 63 as my access code. All your available numbers from 6300 to 6399 will be wasted for future use. Use an ACOD outside of your DID range.

go to ld 20 and prt ludn cust 0 and any first digit.. or leave dn blank.. you will get a list of all vavant dn's..

pick one use it for the acod.. then go to 21 and ltm... that will show you all your in service trunks... depending on that prt, you may see a vacnat port on an analog card..

or look for a nt8d14.. either open the doors or idcs xx each xpe.. a list of those (larger systems have xpe's) are ld 97 prt xpe... after you find a vacant port on an analog card.. a vacant acod, you've got the software.. i can't understand a vendor that is to busy to swing by for 30 minutes.. i perfer to take care of present customers, then make the new ones happy..

Success! However, I have one question. You guys are great, thank you for your quick, helpful responses.

the only thing different between what we already have for a paging trunk built and the one i just built.

an Existing RDB: the TARG is blank
New RDB: on the one I built TARG is 01. I tried changing it to 00 and x and it still remains 01.

Yes, it certainly would have been nice to have our vendor come up and do the job, he's usually pretty good at getting here when we need him. however, he's a 100 miles. our vp-cio doesn't believe in maintenance contracts and it's hard to find someone to come out for quick jobs without a contract or paying a lot, which he also frowns on.....don't get me started. so i certainly do appreciate the help i get from this forum.
