create local web server

Hello, i'm fabio v. from italy, and i'm a super novice with win 2000 server. the firm that i work for, would to create a local server (no net), for host the various site that produce, only for testing... i've installed win 2000 server, i've noticed that iis 5 is the same and host only 1 site.. localhost/... the roookie question is how i can add site that can be accesible by a lan with browser like:

site1
site2

only write this in the varius client browser

excuse me for the banal question , but i'm rookie and not qualified.

Anyone on the LAN can already connect to it right now. How they would do this is to go to there web browser and type:


That's it. They should see your website that you created or they will see the "Under Construction" web page.

Adding Sites
You can add new sites to a computer by launching the site wizard.

To add a new site

In the Internet Information Services snap-in, select the computer or a site and click the Action button.
Click New and then Web Site or FTP Site to launch the site wizard.
Follow the on-screen directions to assign identification information to your new site. You must provide the port address and the home directory path. If you are adding additional sites to a single IP address by using host headers, you must assign a host header name.
Note In the site wizard, All Unassigned refers to IP addresses that are assigned to a computer but not assigned to a specific site. The default Web site uses all of the IP addresses that are not assigned to other sites. Only one site can be set to use unassigned IP addresses. For more information on how sites are identified, see Hosting Multiple Sites by Assigning Ports, Addresses, and Host Header Names in About Name Resolution.
