I want to create an ABBREVIATED DIALING LIST but I need to do it for more than 1000 phone numbers,
Is there any solution to import this list from an Excel files please?
ASA can import and export data like that. I don't think the system ever had more than 100 system-wide entries though.
If you mean personal lists, then yes, ASA can export each station's personal list with each station on a line
Something like this would mean that extension 1234's list 1 is his personal list with the name 'mylist' and it's 5 entries, which are 11111,22222,33333,44444,55555.
You'd probably have to rig a bulk change to make those 1000 phone's 'list 1' be 'personal' to be allowed to import and export anything from their 'personal' list though.
It's working, thank you, but as you said, I can only create 100 entries by list and I can assign 3 lists to every user, that gives me 300 entries by user.
is there any way to make the number of entries more than 100?
The user can have 3 lists - personal/group/system in any order you like. If list 1 on the station form is system, then a key of arbv-dial list 1 item 1 is the first item of the system abrv-dial list. If list 1 is personal, then it'd be item 1 of the personal list.
Still, an abrv-dial list can only be max 100 entries. you'd get at best 100 system-wide, another 100 group wide and another 100 specific to the person. Or, a person can have 3 lists of 100 for themselves, so they can have item 1-100 in their own list 1 and again in 2 and 3
What are you trying to accomplish? I can't imagine it's the 'easy' way to have a bunch of papers pinned on the cubicle wall that says "for this department, transfer to dial code 1015".
If you're hellbent on doing it, you can transfer to 9-xxxx where xxxx is managed in the ARS digit conversion table to replace to whatever you want either on-net or off-net. Or, have a range of 1000 extensions unused and match them in uniform dialplan to translate to what you need.
Abbreviated dials are nice to have a key to press to dial a number but you can't feasibly do that with as many entries as you want. What exactly are you trying to do? It sounds like abbreviated dials are the wrong tool for the job.
