Hi,

I have a machine that is on 10.10.20 subnet. when I ping any machine/server on 10.10.10.97 or lower (96, 95,..) I have a response. however if a ping 10.10.10.98 or higher I have no response (and there is for sure machines on that range).

Hi,

Since your mask is 255.255.255.0 - without router you can reach only 10.10.20 network
To reach 10.10.10 network - you access the router 10.10.20.1.

If I were you - I would check your router settings.

(I assume that you fail to ping by IP as well, not only by hostname )

Check on the router(or Layer 3 switch) for the static routes defined for destination 10.10.10 network and
see what netmask is given.

Similarly at other end you can check the static route
defined for your network 10.10.20 and the subnet mask assigned.
