crashing in tutorial - any advice?

i have just installed dreamweaver and when i first boot it, the welcome screen appears but if i click on tutorials then the program stops responding. Also, if i bypass this error and go straight into it, when i try to preview in internet explorer (f12) the same problem happens. Any ideas?

Are you using Windows ME?
Dreamweaver v4.0?

If you are crashing in F12 browser preview, go to:

According to Macromedia, v4.0 has various probs (especially with Win ME) that are all fixed with the v4.01 updater - I have just downloaded it and it has fixed all mine. I was freezing in F12 and some of my behaviours didn't work but now all is fine.
