Well.. Eventually it had to happen.. The only stable system went down yesterday.. So what happened.. God knows, he he.. Attempting to rebbot resulted in quite a few warnings:

WARNING: /pce@1f,0ide@d/dad0,0 (dad0):
disk not responding to selection
dad0: disk okay

WARNING: /pce@1f,0ide@d/dad0,0 (dad0):
Uncorrectable data error: Block 1f1cc0

So I tried fsck the root partition (booted from installation CD to get to it).. This resulted in a lot of unreadable sector errors and also these:

WARNING: timeout: reset target dhno = 0 targ = 0
WARNING: timeout reset bus chno = 0 targ = 0
WARNING: Drive not reade before set_features

Did a read surface scan on the disk, seems ok..

Any thoughts on how to get from here will be greatly appriciated.. I have to fix the filesystem some how if I want to (or have to) reinstall Solaris agagin. But fsck wont let me fix the problems.. So do I need to reformat the partition?

One more thing that might give you a clue :)

After running fsck on the system (and having that fail), I have to turn of the power to get access to anything again. Not the cdrom is accessible after this.. I get a "transport rejected fatal error" message trying to access anything on the cdrom after doing fsck on the harddrive..

:) Dont you just love technology, he he
