For IP400 avaya system, is there any way to create a conference with 2 other people and then back out of it yourself?

not sure.

i would create a pin protected conference bridge that people can dial into, removing the need for people who arent involved to get involved.

Will need voicemail pro.

An Adhoc conference remains active until the last participant leaves.

So User A calls user B and puts call on hold, user A then calls User C and puts that call on hold. User A presses conference button on their phone User A, User B and User C are in a conference. User A hangs up and then User B and User C are remain in the conference.

Of course, you could just transfer the call from User B to user C

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

This is an option in version 5, so it can be turned off and on
So technically this is possible but vmpro is needed.

So if this was to be done often by callcentre agents a process like mattKnight's would be needed.

....But, to clarify, this would require upgrading the entire phone system, switch and all, to version 5?

I think the confusion is other peoples Tom, as Matt said this would be done by a standard conference call then the originator hangs up, no VM needed :)

The secretary calls the boss because he wants to have a conference with a client.
Secretary then calls the client and conference those two together.
Why ?

Boss always forgets his appointment and phone numbers and the secretary is his right hand :)

I would just set it up and test it and see if it works.

why dont you create a conference room in a short code?

like - 500 - conference meet me

the callers dial the reception, transfer to 500 and job done. you can even set a DDI to 500

no need to a user to "host" the conference then.

HSM, very true.
That is the easiest way to do it.

you are all going mad!
this is standard, you set up conference and if you drop out the remaining parties stay in until final person hangs up.

you don't need vmpro to use pin codes, have done using embedded.

mad!
