Hello all,

I have a few 56xx series and 46xx series phones lying around and they are PRETTY sticky. Wanted to get them usable again. Shoved all sorts of cleaner around the buttons to no avail.

Wondering if anyone has ever opened one of these before for any reason. How was the experience? Was it a hugh-mongous pain in the kiester?

Let me know

Please and thank you!!

Its not to bad once you figure out the ribbon cables have a release so you can get the boards apart. They use little torque screws on the inside. But I am a 30+ year vet who used to have to take things apart and repair them before it became a throw away world. [peace]

Dermis and feline can be divorced by manifold methods.*

they are pretty damn easy, it's the main board + smaller board and speakers. I've taken a ton of 96xx apart to replace screens, speakers, mobos, etc...

Interesting...

Seems this older phones were put together with JB Weld and the power of Zeus. You take out all your screws and being my first time, feels like I'm going to break the dang thing.

Thanks for all the responses though!! :D

I tried to get alcohol with qtips at my local pharmacy, they said I can either get alcohol, or q-tips.
