I'm beginning to hearing lots of cracking noises on my PBX network. I maintain a G3R ver 11. Could someone please help me understand why cracking noises occur. I originally thought it was the phones that had faulty phone cables and chords, but its now getting persistent.

What is the cause of this cracking noise and how can I eliminate them?

Thanks.

Do you have any errors or alarms related to this??

Also is this something that could be for inside or outside calls or both??

It may just be 1 PRI creating this trouble.

The wireless telegraph is not difficult to understand. The ordinary telegraph is like a very long cat. You pull the tail in New York, and it meows in Los Angeles. The wireless is the same, only without the cat.

put a trk-id button your phone. Start making calls to find the noisy trunk or trunk member.

I suggest you isolate this a little further. Try if you could recreate the problem with digital phones to digital phones. If you have reports of this, then it could be TDM bus issues.

We had this issue with a new S8720 system and G650's, which I know has nothing to do with your setup, however, it turned out that the IPSI was defective, and in particular, the tone/clock portion of the IPSI.

That suggests it may be a tone/clock in your switch, or perhaps a call classifier, has gone bad.

Try doing some tests on those cards, or even removing some of the call clsssifiers, to try and isolate it.
