This one is driving me up the wall.

In Crystal Reports 9, when I attempt to create a new blank report, then click "Create New Connection" to see my data sources, Crystal Reports 9 hangs (crw32.exe runs at 100% of cpu utilization) and can only be resolved by doing an end task.

I have resolved this problem in the past by editing the PATH variable in the OS environment, but this does not always work.

Has anyone else any ideas what else I can try..???

many thanks
Kev.

Hi Kev,

I'm not an expert at all but I'm very curious,I would like to know on which OS you did install CR9, did you install any service pack or patchs??
What change did you make in environment variable? You saying, it does not "always" work, so you mean this issue appear irregularly, have you install CR9 on different OS do you have the same issue ?
Where the data are based ?I guess you using ODBC connection, have you create a new system DSN and get rid of the old one?
You said CR9 hangs, Is it hanging for a while then connect or just doesn't respond at all??
(sorry for my poor english)
