My client has CE9 but has given me CR10 to build reports.

Two questions

Can I publish CR10 reports on CE9, I will not be using any of the CR10 enhanced features over CR9.

Or

Can I create reports in CR10 and then open and save in CR9 provided I do not use any of the CR10 enhanced features over CR9.

Reports are built on MS SQL Server.

Ian

You can build the reports in CR10 and open in CR9 but what ever the new features that you used from CR10 may not work in CR9.

You cannot publish the reports to an older version enterprise. i.e you can not publish Cr10 reports to CR 9 Enterprise.

Thanks
Sudha

If a CR10 report is posted on a CE9 what would the affects be? The report not running? Or would there be more consequesnces? And is this a suggestion or a hard and fast rule?

You can publish reports written in CR10 to CE9 by using the CMC or the CE 9 Publishing Wizard.
