Hi folks,

We do a lot of reporting off of Remedy. When we moved to Crystal Reports 9, it didn't take long to discover an issue with the version of crdb_odbc.dll in all versions *after* the intial install (eg all service packs and hotfixes) which caused a lot of errors when accessing Remedy databases. Now every time we install a hotfix or Service Pack, we need to revert back to the old crdb_odbc.dll in order to continue reporting off of Remedy.

We're now looking at moving to the Crystal 10 Suite. My question is, is anyone using CR 10 to report off of Remedy? If so, have you encountered any problems?

Thanks!

Yeah, I have as a matter of fact.

I have noticed that when you use CR10s ODBC driver to report off've a memo field in Remedy (or String 4000 as Crystal reads it), it returns a "Failed to open rowset" error, which terminates the query.

Running the SQL directly against the database is fine.

I'm currently looking into this problem myself, so once I get to the bottom of it, I'll most likely post it here.

We moved from CR8 to CR10 and since then have been unable to connect to the Remedy database. " Query Engine Error:220 Out of Range" You may wish to keep this in mind. The crdb_odbc.dll that ships with CR9 is supposed to be a work around for this.
