Hello all,

I'm trying to update HP EFS 5.62a to version 5.66a on a ML570 Gen2 with 4 CPUs. I was told first I need to remove all patches including the old version of EFS and Symmetrical Multiprocessing then install EFS and install all the patches again then Symmetrical Multiprocessing. Then just re-licence the SMP licences and the SCO Enterprise licence.

I've done all this rebooting the server every time it asked after a kernel re-link. Now when I boot the server I cant CONTROL-D for normal start-up and have to enter the admin password.

When I INIT 2 for multi-user mode everything looks fine except I get

UX:p6update: Error: Cannot bind to Processor 1. When I looked in /usr/adm/messages I had and error warning CPU2 did not finish boot code.

Anyone any ideas?

Many Thanks,

James

Oops forgot to mention. I'm running SCO OpenServer release 5.06.

then install EFS and install all the patches again then Symmetrical Multiprocessing
No, the patches must be installed AFTER Symmetrical Multiprocessing.

Hope This Helps, PH.
