HAVE AN 81C AND LOST POWER FOR CPU1.SW IN SINGLE MODE.HAVE A NEW ONE BEING SHIPPED BUT NOT HERE TILL TOMORROW AM. IS IT SAFE TO BE IN SINGLE MODE THAT LONG.WHAT OTHER THINGS SHOULD I BE AWARE OF? ALSO ,CAN I JUST INSTALL NEW POWER SUPPLY AND SW IS BACK TO NORMAL?
 
well it is double the risk ...do u knowhy the first one failed?

when u get ur power supply just turn it on ... and do a backup
 
installed new pwr spply. after midnite routine sw on cpu1 but RDUN is DISABLED.what the heck?

enable the disabled cmdu and sync it up.

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.
 
enl rdun (ld 135) or sync either command works for that. after the switch is split, rdun will not run until you tell her from which cmdu. nightmares have been told about a switch that does a drive clone (sync) from the empty disk

thanks guys. i did some searching on this sites archives and pieced together enough info to get back on track. thanks anyhow. i have only been to database admin class so researching maintnence ld's has been very interesting and educational. not possible without this forum and its great members.Cold Ones 4 All!!!!!!!
 
Also NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER use the sync command to dump the software onto a new drive. Always burn it in completely including the IOP Flash from the CD-ROM on that side. Sync should be used for database sync only as in the case aboove.
