Ok well, I have an ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe Mobo, and an AMD Athlon XP 2800+ 2.1 GHz CPU. I'm wanting to upgrade my CPU, and I'm quite sure that I'll have to upgrade my mobo as well. I'm wanting an AMD Athlon 64 3500+, and was wondering about a good, mid-priced mobo to match. I'm thinking about stayign with an Asus board, as I've had no problems with mine, the BIOS are relatively straight-forward, and I've heard virtually no bad reviews of their products. Any help on a selection would be great!

The Asus A7N8X-Deluxe is a Socket A (socket 462) 400fsb motherboard basically supporting the fastest 462 CPU which was the XP3.2+
So as you have realised, not much of a jump up from the XP2.8+ (Barton) you already have fitted.

A Good budget choice to pair with the Athlon64 3500 would be the Asus A8N-E.
The Nforce4 chipset by general concensus, being the best chipset for the Athlon64 at the moment.

Hot on it's heals, VIA K8T890 chipset powered A8V-E Deluxe

Thanks, that's the mobo I was mainly looking at, the A8N-E. And yes, I'm aware that it is not that great of a leap to go to a Athlon64 3500+ from my XP2800+, so I may hold off, and save up to get a 4000+ or something a bit more powerful. And I agree with the NForce chipset being great! My current mobo has it, and I love it dearly. The only real specs that I want to stick to with my upgrade would be 1) It has to be an Athlon64; and 2) I'd prefer an ASUS mobo with an NForce chipset. Again, thanks for your comments!
