Question: What is the best CPU fan out there. I'm getting an AMD 3000 400 FBS. I don't want it to run hot. And I do not want alot of noise. Any suggestions?

The best cooling method would be watercooling, in my books at least. This, however, can be quite pricey.

OK for a midrange Athlon but just adequate for a XP3.0+
At the momement and without having to remove the motherboard to fit, the best two options are:

The new Swiftech MCX462-V OR

Thermalright SLK-900A (new version with three lug retension clip)

Both are expensive but awesome air coolers
Both can be used with 80 or 90mm 25CFM or above (quiet fans)so you have exceptional cooling without too much noise.
If you really want to kick ass either can be fitted with a very powerful Vantec Tornado or similar for the ultimate in air cooled performance.

These are really top shelf coolers that retail between
$45/$55 US Heatsink only!

I've read good things about these new Zalman's, only trouble is the motherboard has to have the four mounting holes and be removed to fit.
