cpu clock frequency???

trying to set up a sempron 2800 socket 754 on a gigabyte motherboard it has an adjustable cpu clock frequency were should these settingz be??? im confused between FSB and cpu clock freq

Must be a fairly new introduction to the AMD line up?
Anyway from what I can gather this socket 754 CPU has a 400fsb so you need PC3200 DDR400 memory to go along with it.
Usually set at 200 on the board (this is then doubled by the DDR memory, double data rate) to 400.

Sempron 2800 socket 754 has a clock speed of 1.6ghz
with 256KB L2 Cache
and a 400fsb (front side bus)

NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH:
The socket "A" 462 Sempron 2800 which looks like a good old Barton core XP and has a 333fsb.

Yes my first amd chip,I have setting in the bios set to 200 but with in windows it says the chip is runnig at 1600 mhz so i thought there was a problem with a setting,and yes im runnig ddr 400. Excuse my stupidity,thank you very much.

Thats correct then.
What really matters is how it performs in real life and there is no doubt it will outperform a Celeron D 2800 which is where it's performance rating comes from.
