I have Asus P4PE motherboard, 2.4 GHZ Intel P4, 512 M Kingston DDR memory and I running Windows XP. Most of time computer is ok, but every now and then when it boots motherboard message tells;; cpu card error.... and that time system doesnt get video or boot to windows. Next time it can be ok again, and sometimes that same happening couple times before system boot ok.

Anyone has experience with that message?

Does the computer emit any beep codes when this happens? A single beep means the POST hardware check has not detected any errors, however, multiple beeps mean different things, depending on who makes your BIOS. If you listen carefully, and note whether the beeps are long or short and in what error, this can help resolve the issue. MCSE, A+

There is no beeps, but because that motherboard "can talk" errors, instead I got beeps, I get recorded message what is the problem. That motherboard gives recorded message also when booting is ok... like ... and now system booting to the operating system.

not much help here but a talking POST. That would get annoying real quick, IMO

I have the same motherboard and the talking is very ,very annoying, virpima you can turn the voice off in the bios and get the beeps back, you can also turn off the splash screen there to get faster boot ups.

There are some upgrades for the p4pe on the Asus site ,Be very sure what you are doing before you flash the bios.

There is a great tool included in the progam for doing this start/all programs/asus /update bios.

Hope this helps Dave

I contacted to Asus technical support and they sent new bios update. I updated and I have no seen that error yet, but because it doesnt come everytime I cant be sure it is gone, but we see. Thanks all given hints!

Is the system subject to vibrations or jostling..Perhaps a loose connector ( or one that reacts badly to heat or moisture) is at the root of it..

Just a thought..
