Hi all,

I have issue with CPPM Call Server release 7.6 card, it cannot boot after power outage, when I connect through console (TTY) no data appears on the console, it goes stucked with red alarm.

I plan to bring a new card, can replace this card by new one, and insert only the FMD media into new one then the CS become up ? or I need to reinstall everything and restoring backup located on RMD ?

Please let me know

Thank you in advance

more then likely is an issue with a bad memory stick----if the card has 2 remove one at a time and if it's one of the memories it will boot up.
To replace the card just swap the dongle and fmd-------it should come right up.

Thanks kstaff, so no need to reinstall the OS from scratch,

Ok I will try firstly to swap the FMD + dongle on the new card

Thank you

Honestly it could be the memory, card or the FMD. If the FMD is bad then you will have to reinstall. But keep in mind, the CPPM card doesn't come with memory on board. It has to be ordered separately. More than likely the memory. I think you could very well have a problem with it registering into the security domain since it will have a new MAC address if it ends up being the card.

Thanks KCFLHRC, you mean that if reinstall, I have to rebuilt Security domain, what about configuration, I have only backup stored in RMD, does it enough ? NRS configuration configuration also, I have GR, will it will be stored not in SS ?

Thank you

The Security Domain information is on the SS. You will have to join the CS to the Security Domain if you change out the card or reload the software. If the cards has to be changed out then the MAC Address changes and that may affect your ability to join the Security Domain. You may have to undeploy the original CS and deploy the new one. That would be worst case scenario. Hopefully you just have bad memory

Thank you, I hope that...

You mean I can try first by changing only memory (RAM) without changing the card.
If we change the card, the MAC will be changed also, then we have a risk to undeploy/deploy UCM...will see

Thank you so much

Yes, put the new memory on the old card and see if it comes up

There is a known issue with the older Micron memory sticks with a date code pr to 01 2011.

Thank you all,

Both memory was having issue, also CPPM card goes Out Of service, I replace the entire CPPM card by new one and one new memory 1GB, then switch the FDM and Security Dongle to the new card, the I have the CPPM coming UP with latest backup.

I think I have to rebuilt entire Security Domain, and I guess I will have many issues with Node-IP and sync with SS...

Any help on this ??

Thank you

You need to join that CPPM/ Call Server into the Security Domain in LD 117. You may have to Deploy that CS also since the MAC address has changed

If its a VX works callserver I think just join the Sec Domain should be good as all Node etc. should have come back with the backup. If for some reason the Node info is not there and the page in EM is blank import it from the sig server on the same page.

thanks to all team,

you are right bignose21, it works without deploy CS, I just leave/Join Sec Domain, with restoring backup, then all services becomes as normal.

Thank you
