Caller ID question here.

We have incoming caller ID on our PRI. We receive both the number and name of the person calling.

When a call comes in, it only shows the calling number on the display (not the calling name).

1) If the call is on a secondary button (not the primary), the name displays as soon as you connect the call.

2) If the call is on the primary button, the name will only display if you first put the call on hold, then pick up the call again.

This behavior is only for external calls coming in on the PRI. Internal calls work fine.

Anybody know why this is happening? We'd like the name to display when the phone is ringing.

Thanks!

It sure sounds like a bug. I'd post the release and system type - I bet you're not alone

Take look at key 0 and key 1 progaming on the phone it may be diffrenet what i mean by that is key o may have scr 7400 0 and key 1 may have scr 7401 1 something is diffrenet that 0 or 1 may repersent caller ID

It's an Option 11C Succession Rls 3.0

Hmmm. Older release. Does this only occur on DNs where there are many appearances of the same DN in the system?

For example, if DN 1234 appears on 5 phones - and this problem occurs more often on calls to 1234.

It seems to happen on every phone, regardless of how many times the DN appears.

My switch Opt. 81 Succession Rls 4.5 does the same thing whether it's a M2616 or M3904. External calls on key 0 never show the name, only the number. If you put the call on hold for a second and then go back the name will appear. The only other way around this I've found is to program a "Display" function on an available key and use it before you answer the call. If there is a way to have the name appear as the phone is ringing on key 0 I'd like to know too.

thanks

We also have CLS - TDD on our display phones (2008, 2616, 2317, and 3903/4). However it doesn't work under ADD either (we've tried both).
