How do I set the http_proxy to nothing?

Or - how do I reconfigure cpan as per first usage?

Thanks, rotis23

OK - figure out how to rebuild config:

o conf init

How do you specify none/nothing when it asks for a http_proxy?

try

o config http_proxy ''

I've not done this - it's just from perldoc CPAN.pm

Thanks Mike.

That works but the config isn't stored. If I exit and and then go back into cpan the old settings are restored.

Ok.... well - that's annoying. Hang on.

It should be defined in c:\perl\lib\cpan\config.pm

Mine is empty because FirstTime.pm has not been run - have a look at yours though.

apparently you have to use commit to make the 'o conf' change to the config.pm (or just hack the config.pm).

Thanks for your help Mike.

hack"? :) are you suggesting that I "hack" things? *grin*

commit -- ok, I'll remember that.
