CP Behind BCM 400

Folks, we have a BCM w/callpilot in our sheriff's department. The sheriff wants to be able to call & leave messages in a mailbox that has no extension number. I have tried to add an unassigned mailbox (307) with no extension number. I can't get it to work. What have I missed please?

This should work provided the mailbox is a "subscriber". Your mailbox 307 may be an information box because you areout of subscriber licenses. Also be sure the maibox is initialaized.

Thanks but there are 40 MBs and all are not being used; the user has initialized his MB; it is listed as "subscriber"; does the class of service matter please?

Can't go to a guest mbx by dialing it, you can be transferred to it (f980) or make it a leave message in the ccr. If you try to dial it it will say "not in service"

It says not in service because there is no phone.

You can only access by F981 > OTHER
or
From the Auto Attendant by dialing ** > Mailbox Num & Password

Transfer is F 986 Lv Msg F 980. Can not dial like a phone extension.
