Do any of you know of a coverage path that can be created which will allow the caller to land in the voicemail box of the person that the call covered to? I have CM2.0 on an S8710

Ex. Jane Doe doesn't answer her phone. Cover path 10, goes to her assistant Mary. If Mary doesn't answer, she wants the caller to land in the mailbox of Mary instead of her own mailbox.

Thanks
Val

Do you want/need Jane Doe to ever retreive her messages, or should all messages always go to Mary's voicemail?

Put Jane Doe's extension in the "Secondary Ext" field on Mary's subscriber screen.

Actually - the real scenario is that an employee left and the assistant will need to take calls and allow the callers to leave a message. The secondary mailbox is the way to go. I forgot about this feature as I do use it for fax machine calls at times. Thanks

Doing it the difficult way (but it works, if you use Audix at least):

1) Create a VDN and point the VDN to a free vector.
2) Edit the free vector with the following lines:
1) wait time 2 secs hearing ringback
2) messaging skill 99 (assuming that 99 is the hunt number
for the voicemailsystem)for extension XXX
3) stop
3) Make a coverpath that directs to the vdn number

With the second line you can direct to every voicemailbox you want to.
