I need a little help fellas. A cust has an x-employee, and they want calls covered at another ext and they want the call to terminate into the other ext vmail. a normal forwarding sends the call back to forwarded phone vmail. ext 101 is the x-employee and ext 131 is the new coverage receiver of 101 calls, so how can i get 101 calls to ring at 131 and dump into 131 vmail on rna. I did not put a prim cover 101 on 131 or shared sa 101 on 131.Any guidence would be greatly appreciated, Thank you.

Why are calls going to extension 101 to begin with - if the employee is no longer there? Would it not make more sense to redirect outside calls to ext 131 - if that is where the calls should now go? Is there a reason they cannot do this? How are calls routed to 101 now - through a receptionist or through the AA. Perhaps some changes in the AA menu are needed to route them correctly. You could put a primary cover button on 131 for 101 and delete the mailbox for 101 and take 101 out of the cover group for voicemail.

Just a little info covered calls do not go to Voice mail. They can only ring at an extension. Transfered calls are the only calls that go to voice mail.

Which voice mail? Can you set up 131 to be the phantom receiver for 101 and change the greeting on 101?

Or make 101 an adjunct, give it primary coverage at 131, still send it to 101's VM, but with a new password and greeting. Have 131's user just check it once in a while.
