If a calls get covered to a coverage answer group and is answered by someone in the group. The call still gets nailed up on the original called party primary line and the primary line of the person that answer the call via the coverage answer group.

Why is this?

The problem we are running into is the original called party see that there primary line is active and goes off hook and press their primary line and change the calls to “conference2”. Are there any way to prevent this?

the extensions within the coverage answer group does not have line appearance of the number that was originally called.

so are they calling a did number and point 1 in the coverage path goes to a coverage answer group? try to give us more details here

Disable "Maintain SBA At Principal" under "change system-parameters coverage-forwarding"

Janni78, that worked!!! Thank you very much.

FYI

Note that the option is system wide.

Just because one person does not like the way it works, you may be affecting hundreds
of users when making a change like that.

AvayaTier3, noted and totally understand. This is the first office I have used the coverage answer group in to reduce the amount of expansion module on the phone. In the process of migrating my user base from Nortel CS1K to a centralized Avaya SIP solution.
