I'm using CR 8.5 and want to sum YTD customers if they are a customer for any month (ie. if they are a customer for June, July and August = 3).

Unfortunatly a customer's contract can be for any time range.

Example: Customer 1 effetive 06/01/05 to 12/31/05

Any ideas how I can total my customers by calendar month
when there is a range?

Please clarify what date fields you are working with. Per customer is there only a start date and an end date (separate fields)? And what datatype are these? Or could there be multiple dates listed per customer?

Also, do you want a summary by month? Or do you mean you only want a total for YTD, but counting each person multiple times according to the number of months in the range?

Finally, when you say YTD, do you mean calendar year?

Never mind... i figured it out by creating a count based on subtracting the month of the contract begin date from the month of contract end date.
