Having trouble figuring this one out! Here's what the table looks like:

field1 field2 field3 field4 field5
A 1 99 X X
A 10 99 X X
A 3 99 X X
B 1 99 X X
C 4 99 X X
C 6 99 X X
ETC....

I need to to a count of the records that have "99" in field 3 (there are other numbers besides 99 there) based on how many of the same "letter" in field 1. No matter what i try, i get an error! Help please!!

I have something that may work for you. Do you have any grouping?

FireGeek
(currently using Crystal Reports XI with Lawson 8.03)

Insert a group on field1 and then create a formula:

if field3 = 99 then 1

Then right click on the formula and insert a sum (not a count) at the group level.
