HI,
Is it possible to count the number of pages in tif/pdf file from vb ?

I don't want to use any third party dlls for the purpose.

Yes, see if you can download Adobe's SDK. There is an example contained therein.

Perhaps a cheaper way out would be to buy the dll's available for this function.
