What is the best (and easiest) way to count the total number of incoming calls, both through the autoattendant and direct to extensions with DIDs, coming into my IP Office system? I am running IP Office 3.2.55 with Voicemail Pro.
The simplest way that I can think of is to use DeltaServer to report the SMDR to file(s) on a drive.
Import the log files (which are comma-delimited CSV files) into Microsoft Access. You can then run a query with Totals turned on. Group by line or extension if you wish and be sure and select only external calls (i.e. direction = I and is_internal = 0 and continuation = 0).
I believe the continuation is for calls that are transferred which creates a second SMDR entry (which you don't want). Err... Or maybe you do?
In any case, there is a wealth of information available in the log files. Keep in mind, the current day SMDR is written to a different file and is cumulative for that day. Until, DeltaServer renames it to ...date.log
Also, DeltaServer is free (located on the Admin disk in CBC folder.
Truly, you'll need to write something in Access (or sql if you prefer).
I believe there are column descriptions in the SMDR PDF.
You'll be able to see how much time has been allocated to a particular line as it is denoted in the SMDR data. So, you could total by line or by user.
I've done quite a bit of analysis in the past with regards to SMDR (Nortel DMS100 stuff). That was a 1.2 million record database. But, the IPO does a much better job on reporting.
Also, 4.0 software has a System Status program that tells you of trunk incoming and outgoing usage.
It is a cool program in 4.0 IP Office gets better after every release.
There is no change in the use of DeltaServer, it is still unlicensed. The only thing is that you need a new DeltaServer to connect to 4.0, it is on the admin cd in the folder CBC.
