Hi,
Anyone has experienced on "couldn't find any host named" as below:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at ms.evershining.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<billcheung@xxxx.com>:
Sorry, I couldn't find any host named xxxx.com. (#5.1.2)

However, it works well after send again !!! it happened only sometimes. Any patches I missing, I am using netqmail-1.05 and followed instruction of Life with qmail.

Thanks

Of course I did checked as below points:

1. Check for typos after the @ symbol.
2. No spaces should exist between the 'less than' and 'greater than' symbols. <>
3.Hyphens and dots are allowed as special characters after @. - .
3. Was the correct top level domain used? .com, .net, .org, etc.
4. The domain has expired or no longer valid.

none of above.

Thanks

I'm guessing that one of your resolving DNS servers is not online or is unable to respond quickly with the needed results.

So that mean I have to look for a stable DNS IP for /etc/resolv.conf in the Linux server? Do you have any suggestion which DNS IP is most stable?

Thanks

Your ISP is a good place to look?! It might just be a temporary outage. Perhaps reversing the order of IPs in resolv.conf will help? You should always have at least two entries
