I would like to have your opinion on what type of program to use .I design custom interior, cabinet and exclusive furniture. All the architectural drawing that I receive are done using AutoCAD at a scale of ¼” .I draw all of the affected room by hand at a scale of ½”to do my design work which consist of : plan ,elevation, ceiling ,lighting, electrical, plumbing for the construction trade. Technical drawing for the furniture makers and other associated trade are at a scale of ½” or 1:20 depending on the supplier. Do I need to learn a specific computer language to fully utilize AutoCAD or another program?
Thank you.

Hi,
If I were you I would start out learning AutoLisp. You get a lot of "bang for the buck" here and there is a lot of information and a lot of "freeware" to learn from already.

Here is a place to go for some shareware/freeware lisp routines:
They have architectural programs. I don't know how useful they are. Also, if you have any questions, there is a very good architectural drafter at AllExperts.com by the name of Bill Deshawn. He has a website with some architect lisp freebies, such as a very nice stair routine.
Studying other routines is a good start to creating your own.
AutoCad out of the box is not particularly user friendly, but lisp is a very easy language to learn with powerful abilities.

I apologize for not replying sooner, contract abroad are more then I can handle at times. Thank you borgunit and nebster.Autolisp is my project during my vacation. Hope to have the pleasure to talk to you again.
