I have a route that uses four commercial phone numbers for our 911 service. During routine checks I noticed one of the lines was out and it happened to be the line associated with the last trunk member. This is the one that is siezed first when placing a 911 call, but the call won't go through because the line is dead. Is there a way to have the switch check for dial tone before seizing the line and placing the call and automatically try the next trunk member?

I've included a print of the RDB and the TNB for one of the trunk members.

Thanks for your help.

Not as long as they are LOOP Start, if they were Ground start the switch would try another one and get you out. You can change your SRCH to RRB that way it will look at the next trunk the next time you make a call.

Thank you. I'll change the route to RRB. The NTP says RBB will start with the next lower trunk than the one seized. Does the switch keep track of the last trunk seized on the route?
