I am trying to override the COS camp on timer (180 seconds). I have our voice mail call tree sending calls thru a t-1 to a remote destination and camping on 4025 sets. I have been trying to change or make the camp on timer turn off or keep camped on into infinity (or until answered). Is there a way to do that in the class of service. Possibly fool or override the system.

Setting the timer to 0 will disable recall I believe

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

How does the T1 come into the picture? Is there another system at the other end? Are you using MSDN? Just questioning how the connection to the remote site is carried out. Does the VM tree send the call to an extension number of an ARS string? IF its an ARS string then unless the T1 channels are busy you won't get an option to camp on. IF you are clustered via MSDN then camping on to 4025 sets would be possible make sure your changes are in the trunk COS at the far end.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

I am not using ARS, and am able to camp, just need to override the 180 second timer in the t-1 COS, if possible. I will check the far end trunks. Even if the far end trunks would override the t-1 COS, there is still a 180 second timer.

are you trying to change the auto camp on or camp on recall?

I am trying to fool or bypass the recall timer (180 seconds). The auto camp on works. It is the recall timer that I feel is too short and needs to be extended. The software threshhold is a max of 180.

Correct, setting it to zero, as soon as it hit the 4025 set to camp it disconnected.

Maybe it's the Auto Campon Timer instead. I noticed in help: "This option applies only to sets without softkeys, ONS stations, and trunks calls."

Entire Description:
Enter the length of time while listening to busy tone before system performs an auto camp-on to the busy line. Values range from 0 to 30 seconds. A blank field turns the timer off and provides busy tone to a caller when calling a busy extension.

This option applies only to sets without softkeys, ONS stations, and trunks calls. Sets with softkeys do not require auto camp-on since they provide a "Wait" soft key that gives the user control over camp-on.

Note: The timer should be disabled (field blanked) for MLPP installations and SIP phones.

Note: Setting the Auto Camp-on Timer to 0 seconds can result in callers not getting a busy signal when they encounter a busy internal line. Set a longer time, e.g. 10 seconds, to ensure that the caller will receive the busy signal.
