Corrupted index , MS sql , Foxpro or Access?

Hi all.
I have some questions
I have an application running in a server
Foxpro 5.0
Nothing special no client server development,
all data,tables,forms,prg´s are all in server, I created an executable program and I ran it from there.

Every month I input data on tables by using forms and code, and get some reports .
but sometimes the data is wrong. even when the table has
the correct data on the tables´fields, the code on the forms also is fine,
What I did: I opened the DBFs rebuilded the indexes and apparently
now is working fine.

I heard that the indexes or tables get corrupted, so what should I do for not facing that problem every month.

Do you think that migrate to Microsoft SQl as a back end and Keeping foxpro as front end, will save the data with integrity with no corruption, or it is the same problem?

In conclusion
I will be safe from data corruption by switching to MS SQl or Oracle?
I know it´s very expensive to implement Ms SQl,It ís there a simple solution to keep data fine in FOX Pro?

Also, just to check... you are using structural CDX indexes, not the old IDX style indexes, right?

If the information contained in the reports is not correct, then it sounds like the indexes are not being updated as you enter new information. If your indexes are really "corrupt", I believe you would trigger a FoxPro error when you opened them.

So... do you get an error, like "record out of range", or do you just get the wrong pieces of info in certain spots?

And, as Barbara has already asked, are you using structural indexes (.cdx), or stand-alone indexes (.idx)? If you're using IDX's, then you may have a problem with the indexes not always being open as you're adding records to the tables.

NO , just the reports have wrong data.

CDXs should automatically get updated. There may be something in that Wiki topic that will help you.

BTW, I'm a "Ms", not a "Mr"
