Hi all,
We have the Futura font installed on some of our Windows XP computer. On one of the computers, the font got corrupted and now only shows up in Italics. I cannot delete the font or move the font out of the folder. I cannot reinstall the font because the corrupted font is still in the fonts folder.
Any advice would be most appreciated.
Thank you,
Katy

Hi

Try going into safe mode and delete the font then. If I remember you should be able to.

Thank you for your help.
I tried this but got the same message.
"Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk."

It may be easier to delete it from the command prompt.

Ahhh... the good old DOS days.

First you need to know the path to your font. Most Probably it is C:\Windows\Fonts

Start, Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt

You should have C:\>

If you have anything more than that, type cd.. (that is CD dot dot) and hit Enter

Repeat until you have C:\>

Then type CD windows

You should have C:\WINDOWS>

Type cd Fonts

You should now have C:\WINDOWS\Fonts>

if you now type Delete futura.ttf you should be all set

That seemed to work. Thank you! We had to make a few variations, but the premise worked. I was feeling stuck before. I appreciate your effort.
