corrupted file

i have an old program written using clipper and
access a .dbf files.
i copied one of this .dbf files to a nother machine
to make some processing on it using delphi5 professional
and after that i copied it back and i tried to open it
with theeditor DBU butit gave me
a message contains file corrupted and ERRor :1012 or 1003
i didn't remember exactly te error number.
any idea will be appriciated.
 
I rather suspect that you have used the BDE to access the file as a "DBaseIV" file. At any rate, you have probably NOT accessed the file as a Clipper File. The net result of that is that you have modified the index and/or the table ind rewritten the file in a format that is not recognized by Clipper.

I've run into this in the past and the only way around it is to either rewrite the whole app in Delphi or to restore your original file (from BEFORE you messed with it with the DeskTop Database tool).
