Corrupt font message when printing 1

Using Quark 6, Mac OS10.3

Occasionally when I print from Quark, I get a message that "XXX font may be corrupt and be subsituted with Courier".

Everything prints fine though. Another co-worker had this happen however and all did not print ok, and the font had to be reloaded.

Has anyone had this happen and do you know if it is Quark-related or perhaps Suitcase XL related, which we also use?

I get this message every now and then and all does print o.k. If I ever had a problem I would 1st try replacing the fonts.

Why it does this I have no idea. I can work the same job on a G4 using the old version of suitcase and I never get the message.

Hopefully someone has an answer to this.

I replaced the fonts. Just today I had 2 Quark documents I was working on. The same thing happened (corrupt fonts message), only this time, on one the file would not print at all! So, I closed it, restarted Quark and tried again. Now it says "can't find file" or "file is in use, etc." Nor could it be opened on any other Mac.

I ran Suitcase XL Tools and it said there are no corrupt fonts.

I trashed my Quark prefs, restarted and tried to open these files again. Same error message. Right now I'm going to have our tech get yesterdays files from the backup and try again, but this is getting very irritating.

Any other suggestions out there?

download Font silencer XT from quark.com

Be very very careful.

If you do download that extension, because it silences all font messages, so although it anouying that it comes up, it will be more anouying when it no longer comes up and your job gets printed in Courier.

It will no longer warn you when something is really wrong.
