Corrupt database (form maybe?) crashes Acccess

Okay, Weird crashing problem here. I have a database that after I open it, nothing happens. Access opens and prompts for my username/password (the database is password protected) and that's it; the database window does not come up. The majority of the menu items are greyed out, although I have access to a few that you don't get when you have no database open, such as Window->Unhide. This is Access 2000 btw.

As soon as I try to select anything from the menu, it crashes. I had modified the form that automatically opens since I last used this database and it may have something to do with that. I didn't change anything except basically cosmetic things. Possibly it was corrupted or something. Is there any way for me to uncorrupt my database or whatever? I don't care if I have to delete the opening form, but I made a lot of other changes to other forms that I don't want to have to do again (I make daily backups, so not all is lost)

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is there a tool to help me uncorrupt it or just extract some forms from the database? There is no data in this database, so I don't need to get to data or anything.

Thanks!

Hi,

Try opening the Access application, but not your database. Choose Compact/Repair from the menu and browse to your DB.

Thanks for the reply, but I tried that already. I just imported all the changed objects to an older backup and I think everything is working now. Unless anyone has any input as to why it was crashing I think this thread can be closed now.

Thanks again!
