When building a DLOP in LD 17 the first entries are: DLOP loop dd ff Digital Trunk Interface Loop or Loops. Where:
• l = loop number 0-159
• dd = maximum number of simultaneous voice
or data calls 0-(24)
• ff = frame format D2, D3, D4, or ESF So what is the correct value for "dd" ? I already have 24 T1's built. All three TRK are value 24 but the remaining 21 PRI's either have 23 or 24 for "dd". Not having any problems except for the trunks going into CISCO gateways which can have ocassional release problems but clear up immediately. I guess I am asking what does "maximun number os simultanious voice or data calls" actually mean. Thanks DLOP NUM DCH FRM TMDI LCMT YALM TRSH

dd in the older books said:
maximum number of data calls
This refers to the Nortel data units placing calls.
The data units would dial a number and stay up
all day. This could use up all 24 channels on your
T-1 and not leave any for voice.
If you had this problem you could limit the number
of data calls on a T-1 by entering:
4 12 ESF
This would allow a maximum of 12 data calls on
loop 4.
There would be no limit on voice calls.
No one ever used this feature because Nortel did
no sell a lot of data units.
Entering 4 24 ESF or 4 23 ESF will cause no trouble.
Entering 4 23 ESF helps you identify a D-Channel
location on loop 4.

Thanks,I checked some other 61's and 81's and found in the DLOP cequ info to be all 24 for "TRK" and 23 for "PRI" .

if you have a PRI Dch put 23 if you have AMI or DTI put 24.
