Corporate Internet Popup blocker

Anyone know of a internet blocker that sits centrally at the point of entry to the site (I don't want one that goes on the PC).

We use Checkpoint-1 firewall, Symantec Web Security and NetworkAssociates E-Policy for antivirus.

Any help much appreciated.

Does checkpoint not block pop-ups? I use really basic Netgear firewalls on small networks and these block pop-ups by the simple fact that its a firewall!

Are you sure there isn't a loophole in the firewall somewhere, a rule set that needs to be applied? I can not speak from experience as I have never seen checkpoint but even really basic firewalls like the one built into WinXP (nasty product) blocks pop-ups - that is until you realise that someone has written code to specifically open ports to allow UDP traffic etc - and you have to shut them off again. In summary surely checkpoint blocks pop-ups?

I also use basic netgear firewalls for smaller networks, but in my experience these will only block the messenger service popups, not regular internet popups that are coded in the actual webpage. The netgear firewalls I use however, have an option to block the pop-ups by using some sort of content filtering... however there is always the one user that has a site that requires popups...

If you have some sort of centralized distribution capability I would recommend the google toolbar, that way users can choose to get them or not... thats just my opinion

I'm all for the google toolbar aswell (although it's not exactly what you asked for).

Thanks for your inputs. I also put the question to our hardware supplier and they had no luck either. Thier only suggestion was to drop Web Security and use Websense Enterprise product (Premium Groups). I think we'll end up using the Google toolbar!

Something to be aware of, the Google toolbar has an option to where you can donate your unused CPU time to the protein folding project. While I've got my machine at home working away on this (nice to contribute to science!), I don't think you'd want a work machine running it.

How do you enable the folding? Is there an extra plug-in to download?
