Hi I have just recieved a BB 7230, this is though Work via a corporate account, Its a Vodafone version and I have GPRS enabled. The BES server isnt due to go live for a few week's, My question is the fact that I have no Vodafone Live Icon and no where to configure GPRS connections, is this standard.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Richard,

I have to make a bunch of guesses, based on the models we use. I hope this helps...

First, until your BES server is running you'll need to leave the Redirector running on your computer to have any mail forwarded to your Blackberry.

Second, you probably need to set some communications settings. First be sure you have the radio enabled - the main window should have an icon that says Turn Wireless Off. If it says Turn Wireless On, click it once. Then go to Options from the main window, then choose Network. Does it show an active network? If not, click and select Scan for Networks. After the scan completes, do a Select Network then Register Now, then Save.

I hope that helps.

Redirector only works with Exchange not Domino. So if you are a Domino/Notes shop this won't work.

If vodafone offers Blackberry Web Client they should be able to tell you how to access and sign up on an account with them. Then you can access your mail via pop3 if it is enabled on your mail server. If not you can access your internet mail accounts via pop3.

Not too sure though how the European carriers work.
