Corel Draw X3: Back Minus Front shaping help

How would I do this?

I want to make a design all in one color.

It will look a lot like this image:
Do you see the letters at the top (Pack 900) and the bottom (Run with the pack!) how the cutout is a little larger than the letters. It makes the letter stand out more.

How would I do that?

If I just select both the words and the diamond and select Arrange > Shaping > Back Minus Front, that just cuts out the words. Adding the words back looks liek I did nothing.

If I try to use a border, I lose the border when I try the Shaping, I lose the border.

I've tried about everything I can think of with no luck.

Any ideas??
