hi i just swiched to corel draw 12 today after using 10 for about 2 years now, and am having alot of color trouble with this new version.

for some reason the colors are all mutted and just plain terrible compared to my 10 colors, this i can live with if theres no solution

however what i cant live with is when i export any design using these colors they dont even look the same !
i cant believe it ive never seen such a drastic change in a jpg conversion.

ive tried it with both rgb and cmyk colors and just dont know what to do,..
i need these colors the same in my line of work.
please help if you can

sounds like you have Color Management on in this version and have it turned off in your old version. Have you tried disabling CM?

I think Javabear is correct. How you use Colour management depends on the final output, I use it for either litho printed output so it is on or vinyl output where it doesn't really matter. Going to press as cmyk the results will always appear slightly duller simply because it is not possible to create all the screen colours with just 4. If your are outputting to a colour laser or inkjet you may be better turning it off as the printers driver will take over and may clash with Draw CM. A bit of trial and error is required.

thanks guys that was the definitely the problem,..

now im having trouble putting together a good pallette of colors that will work with other programs, do you guys all create your own custom pallete, or do you use the pre set pallets set up by corel?

thanks for the help on that i had almost threw up my hands in defeat.

I mainly use Pantone colours for the majority of my Draw work so I have a custom palette with only the colours I use all the time ir Reflex Blue/Warm Red/185/355/ etc. When I work CMYK I just colour with the fill tool using the CMYK model, my colour manager is always on except when scanning as this seems to cause washed out out scans.
