Corel 12 cant open files made in corel 8.

Hi. I have a new Pc.
(AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual
Core Processro 3800+
2Ghz, 1.00 GB RAM
I use Corel Draw 12.0.0.458.
I cant open files i have made in Corel 8.
This message appears when i try to open Corel 8 files using Corel 12: <Error reading "filename.cdr">.
I tried to install the same version (Corel 12.0.0.458) at another Pc and it opens files from Corel 8 fine).
Perhaps there is a file missing?? or something else??

Try importing rather than opening. If this fails convert cdr files to cmx, import those then resave as cdr. V12 has a vba to convert many files at the same time but you may want to try one first. CMX strips away styles and this may be your problem. F8 at Draw launch may also cure but you would lose your workspace unless saved first, would save conversions though.

Nothing changed. Importing doesnt help. Message: "Cant import an empty file"
Neither converting to .cmx
By F8 i suppose you mean to press F8 after i click to open Corel Draw. Nothing.
I cant understant why that happens at the specific PC.
I just bought it....
