I installed a CICS 7.1 with a cordless telephone on the I-ATA port, pair 20 (yellow/slate) extension 237. The phone can receive and make calls but will not ring. Am I missing something on the programming?

Thanks for your assistance on this.

did you turn the ringer on, on the phone. Also are the lines asigned to ring on x237.

Perhaps I was not clear on my original post. I'm talking about set-to-set (intercom) calls only. I'm yet to assign lines to ring because the phone company has not installed the lines yet.

I went through the cordless phone menu and made sure it was not mute and ringer volume was at its highest. The problem is when I dial 237 from a Norstar phone in the same system, i.e. ext 224. I can dial other extensions from it and they ring at their respective telephones, I can also call 237 from any phone and the call goes thru as well but no ring.

Thanks

Try another analog device and see if it rings.
Also see if the call can be answered even though you dont hear it ring.

It's possible defective port not giving enough ring current but try both above first and report.

Tried another analog set and no luck. No ring, but I can answer and make intercom calls.

Any programming I might be missing? How can I test the port for proper current?

Thanks.

hook up a volt meter and look for 90v/20hx ringing.

Also, have you tried rebooting the CICS???

I rebooted the cics twice to no avail. I tried the analog set at the 66 block to see if wiring was bad,, no luck. I was not able to check Voltage though.

Question... If I replace the cics shell (base unit), and transfer the software cartridge and cards to the new one, would I have to reconfigure the system all over? Where is the programming stored? I have a spare shell to try.

Check to see if you can increase the ringer volume. It may be turned down to low or off on the phone.

byrontel... How can I check that how many intercom paths I have? Is that comparable to intercom button assignments on a digital set?

dwtaylor... The ringer volume is through the roof. I even tried another analog set.

Thanks for the follow up.

Same yes on the Intercoms and is suggest at least 2 for ATA's.

Just to confirm....if you call the ATA and you can answer it even though it did not ring you have an issue with the KSU.

I think your best to either do a system startup and reprogram in case a software glitch or swap the KSU.

This will probably sound stupid but is there any way that the DND feature is somehow turned on Ext. 237

try changing to 1 intercom path.Under line access, next to I/C paths....
