I have resurrected a CMC using the IBM os/2 for a small non-profit school. It will be added to a small coral II system. It uses 4/8 analog lines in, one digital line to the digital box with the rs-232 to the Dell PC
All is ok, so I am adding a menu tree, you know, "press 1 or the Office, press 2 for Mr Smith" etc, the problem is when I press the 1 or whatever digit, the sweet voice telephone lady, says, I will transfer you now, I hear the digits on the phone, I see on the computer screen, the correct digits go out also (the ext I want), then the system waits for 3 seconds, there is NO Ringing from any phone and then the vmail disconnects. So no transfer took place. I have checked most everything. I can directly dial the number, I can dial the number and then using my transfer key, transfer to any phone. The voice mail does answer and you can leave a message and get the message light, but somewhere in this tree is a mistake, or is it somewhere else. Any Ideas, thanks

Make sure in mailbox setting the transfer to extension is set to yes...if it is not, the call won't transfer

It is set correctly. Still no go. Is there some timer somewhere that might effect this?

Sounds like you're hookflash time is wrong. You're using SLS ports for the VM? And it cuts you off when attempting to transfer? If so then this is probably the cause.

Off the top of my head I can't remember exactly where it is. Try ST.T (STation Timers) or FE.T (FEature Timers) and look for Off Hook and On Hook times.

You say your transfer button on your phone works. Is this a digital phone? If so it will always work. Try transferring from an analog phone (using flash/recall) key. This will probably cut you off but analog phones can have different timing so it may work. The vm may operate a different timer.

Hello again, yes, I am using an APDL or whatever the no button phone wedge is called. I have disconnected the analog line and done a transfer, but I agree, I think there is a timer issues, so will be looking for that. All great suggestions, I will report back again. I have also done a logview.txt file, but cannot really understand it. At one point, it says that a VM SLT number, (2990-2997) is not in the list, but it does not say what list. If someone has a CPS.ini file I could look at, that would be nice also

Had a look at the manual and you should check the following things regarding hookflash timing....

CLIS - see what card_db# the SLS card that the VM ports are on

STDB - for the card_db# check the following settings (these are my timers but depending on your country they may differ)

MIN_OFFHK- 70
MIN_ONHK -1120
MIN_HKFLS- 100
MAX_HKFLS- 300

I believe the CMC is just the full PC version of the iCMC (ActiveVoice Repartee software) so have a look in the Switch Setup screen and you'll see the hookflash timing settings which you may need to allow for in the Coral timers. I'd adjust the timers in the Coral (extend the window) rather than change the CMC timing).

Hookflash (&) Accepts the number of 100ths of
a second for the length of a hookflash for an
ampersand (&) in a dialing sequence.
Hookflash (%) Accepts the number of 100ths of
a second for the length of a hookflash for a percent
sign (%) in a dialing sequence.

Good luck. :)

This answer is >>>>>>>>>> (drum roll please)

The STDB of the SLT card, using db0, had a wrong value in the MIN_HKFLS setting. It was so wrong that the MIN value was higher then the MAX value ! I made the corrections, in my case down to 200 for the MIN HKFLS and 780 for the MAX HKFLS. It was 1740! The previous owner must of not wanted anybody to hookflash on a SLT POT.
Thank you everyone for your help. The transfer function is now working as it should.

be careful..by enabling the hookflash the vm may now be used for outcall and dial south america by setting up a xfer mailbox....this is a typical hacker setting

metballnut, if xfer isn't enabled then the voicemail can't work as an automated attendant, allow 'dial 0/9 for reception, and many other functions that are standard voicemail functions.

Any voicemail can be "hacked" but that's why it needs to be setup correctly with passwords etc to not allow this.
