Any one know of a way to get around the copy protecting Outlook puts on it PST file? I have program that copies it and many other items to the server every 2 hours. The company that makes the program just says to set it to copy at a time Outlook isn't running. But that isn't posible...to many users turn off their computers and while they are using them Outlook is always on. I'm just full of problems, ain't I?

What is the purpose of having it on the server?
Is your intention to back up the pst files?

If so, why don't you just keep all pst files on the server. Then point outlook to the server via UNC path. Then you can backup the server on a nightly basis.

all the equipment is old. I can't trust any of it. And there are power problems in the building.....someone running the vacume, during lunch..and someone hits the microwave on.....power loss to the cubicle section.

I can definitely relate to the old equipment issues. However, I am fortunate enough to be resigning from my current company with all the old junk today. Monday I start a new job at a company which buys all state of the art equipment. Now I have a lot to learn to play catch up on some of the latest technologies.

My last wife used to work as bookkeeper at a construction company. They had the computers on the same breaker as the welding shop. Everytime the shop tripped the breaker... Do you know how long it takes to get a Unix system restarted after a power failure?
