copying/moving users to another server? 1

i copied a few databases to a new server (both sql server 2k) and realized that i need to somehow move the accounts over from the old server. is there a safe way to do this? can i just recreate the accounts again on the new server and manually specify the sid?

Yes. Look up the parameters for sp_addlogin in BOL. Everything you need will be there.

ok, read up on sp_addlogin, but now i cant figure out what the sids were on the old server. i looked at the master db table sysusers, but all sid entries are shown as <binary>. whats going on here?
