Guys, I have a new PRI coming into one of our option 11 sites, its going to replace a focal circuit. Basically were just changing carriers so how can I just copy the focal pri information to the new AT&T pri?
you can't, prt it out and build it new.. routes, trunks, cequ dch.. no copy command in any of those loads.. make sure what the far end interface and protocols are before you build the new pris.. some changes at that level require outting everyting and putting it back in
What I have done is taken delivery of the new service and simply moved the wire connection from the origonal vendor to the replacement vendor. If it works, decide if you trust it enough to leave it...if it does not work, the connection is just returned to the place it was while you ponder what to do.
Is ATT beating Focal pricing and quality?...or are there more complicated reasons to make the change?
i usually add the new pri as a stand alone, build everything new, get both working, point one npa or nxx to the new service. of course gh's sugestion works great unless your 7/24.. hospitals seem to get silly if i take all the dialtone away... guess that's way i work with sick people
I have a binder, the gospel binder, that is broken into two sections. The first section is all circuit programming, rdb, d-ch, msdl info etc for current existing circuits in my switches of all carriers I have worked with. Then the second section is config's that I have programmed in the past. It is an easy ref. tool especially for doing line by line programming for carrier specific stuff.
i on the other hand almost never print anything, my database is on my hd and a share drive.. usually a hard copy is obselete before i have it printed.. i do keep all my circuit numbers and contact numbers in a visio format.. just the information that the switch will not keep for me
